How Merito works

Two talent pools. One verified network.

Merito Verified Professionals is the premium network of experienced people with verified identity and a steady, verified work history. Merito Campus Talent is the dedicated programme for students and recent graduates looking for internships and first jobs. Each pool has its own rules, and employers search one pool at a time.

The two pools

Pick the pool that fits where you are

Nobody is moved from Campus Talent to Verified Professionals automatically, and no score, badge or paid plan admits anyone. Only the rules do.

Premium network

Merito Verified Professionals

The premium network of experienced talent

Experienced professionals whose identity and work history have been checked, and who stay with their employers.

To be admitted, all of these

  • An average stay of 36 months or more with each employer
  • Every counted employer verified
  • Identity verified
  • Complete and consistent work records

Employers see: Experienced people who pass every rule. Nobody who fails one is ever shown, whatever their score.

Merito Campus Talent

The campus and fresher recruitment programme

Students and graduates of the last 2 years entering their first professional roles. No work history needed.

To be admitted, all of these

  • A current student, or graduated in the last 2 years
  • Less than 12 months of full-time work
  • Identity verified
  • Consistent records

Employers see: Students and recent graduates, searchable by college, graduation year, degree, skills, assessments and the roles they want.

Merito Verified Professionals

An average stay of 36 months, counted fairly

The average is worked out on Merito's server from your work history, and again every time your CV or an employment record changes. A high Career Score never makes up for a rule that is not met.

  • Stays are counted per employer: promotions inside one company are one stay, never split.
  • Your current job counts up to today.
  • Internships, apprenticeships and training are left out. So are contract and freelance stays.
  • A short stay that ended in a layoff, closure or acquisition is left out when the employer or a verified document confirms it. Your own word alone is not enough.

Worked example

  1. First employerPromoted twice: still one stay48 mo
  2. Current employerCounts up to today24 mo
  3. Six-month internshipLeft out6 mo
(48 + 24) ÷ 2 employers36 months

This meets the tenure rule. The person is admitted once their identity and both employers are verified and their records are consistent.

Merito Campus Talent

Built for your first job, not your tenth

No previous full-time job is needed, and the 36-month rule does not apply. Your campus profile carries what employers hiring freshers actually look at.

Campus candidates get a readiness checklist: assessments, skills, projects, certifications and verified education. It shows what has been done and checked. It does not claim to measure loyalty, honesty or character.

When you have built up your experience, you can choose Merito Verified Professionals yourself. You are admitted there once you meet its rules; nobody is moved across automatically.

  • Portfolio and extracurricular achievements

For employers

Two search modes, never mixed

Employers search one pool at a time, and the pool is shown on every search, saved search and candidate list. The two are never mixed.

Merito Verified Professionals

Every profile shows its employment history and which parts are verified.

The pool you are searching is shown above every result.

Saved searches and candidate lists each belong to one pool.

Candidates who don't meet a pool's rules are never shown in it.

Kept apart on purpose

Pool, status and membership are three different things

Your pool

Verified Professionals or Campus Talent. You choose it; the rules decide whether you are admitted.

Your reputation status

Profile, Verified, Trusted, Elite, Platinum. Earned by verified evidence, shown on your profile.

Your membership

A paid plan shows a Premium badge. It never admits you to a pool and never changes a score.

Not admitted yet?

Your account stays, and you see what to fix

If you don't meet a rule yet, your profile stays private, not deleted. Your page shows which rule failed and what would fix it, and it is checked again every time your records change.

  • Correct a wrong date or a missing role in your work history.
  • Verify your identity and each employer that counts.
  • Or, if you are a student or recent graduate, choose Campus Talent.

Colleges

Placement cells

Colleges use the College portal to upload student batches and track placements. Students who join Merito Campus Talent and meet its rules can be found by employers searching that pool.
